Terms of Service

There are a few rules about the Simple Wires affiliate program you should know about. No “gotchas” here, just some terms to keep everyone happy.

• Self-referrals are not allowed (i.e. signing up for Simple Wires through your own affiliate link)
• Abuse, gaming, or attempting to mislead (i.e. posting fake discounts to coupon-sharing websites, or using an affiliate link and account from different emails with the same domain) will result in your account being permanently banned.
• If your customer does not use your referral link, we do not have a way to associate them after the fact. So make sure they come in through your link before they create their account on the Register page.
• No search engine ads (especially on branded terms or domain names), Facebook ads or other ads that would compete with our own marketing and cause potential confusion for customers.
• No Facebook ads that link to our website or anything similar that would compete with our own paid marketing and drive up our costs and potentially cause confusion.
• No pretending to be acting on behalf of us (ie. as an employee).
• We reserve the right to change the Terms of Service for our affiliate program at any time.

We reserve the right to terminate your affiliate account for violation of any of the rules at our sole discretion. Commissions generated by mechanisms that are in violation of our Terms of Service will not be paid or owed.

Commission Structure and Customer Ownership
You are eligible for commissions on paying customer's accounts as long as they continue to pay*. If they upgrade/downgrade your commission will reflect it. For example: say John Q. Public comes to Simple Wires from your affiliate link on January 1st and works with the Free version for three months and then on April 1st switches to the Individual plan at $20/month. Your commissions for the first three months = $0.00. Your commissions for the subsequent months will be 30% of $20 = $6.00. Because we pay 30 days in arrears you would be eligible for your first commission not on May 1st, but on June 1st. We do this in case a user requests a refund. Further, say that John Q. adds an ala carte Project Expansion package for $20/month. Their monthly spend is now $40/month which takes your commission to $12/month. 

*Your customer is considered your customer if, within twelve months (365 days) of registering from your link, they purchase a paid product. If on day 366 they decide to finally upgrade, they are no longer your customer and no commissions will be due or payable.

Commission Payment
Simple Wires commissions are paid:

• Monthly (usually on or around the 1st)
• Via PayPal. In order to receive payment, you must provide a valid PayPal email address. If you do not provide a PayPal account email.  We can mail a check. There is a $5 check fee.
• When the total amount owing is equal to or greater than $50 USD, or if six months of payments which do not yet equal $50 are due.
